“We don’t think of sharks as social animals, but they do have social groups,” says Yannis Papastamatiou at Florida International University in Miami.
New research published by our lead scientist Dr. Papastamatiou in Proceedings of the Royal Society B shows that grey reef sharks form social groups that can last up to four years. These groups likely make hunting easier.
